<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal device whose optimal operation means is selected depending on ambient temperature, and an operation method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A mobile terminal device includes a temperature detection part which detects ambient temperature. A processing part of the mobile terminal device acquires the ambient temperature detected by the ambient temperature detection part and activates predetermined operation means preliminary set depending on the range of the ambient temperature when the ambient temperature falls within a predetermined range.
