<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor unit which can prevent a conductive pattern from being cut at an end edge of an insulation protective layer in a flexible substrate, even when the flexible substrate and a rigid circuit substrate are connected; and a composite substrate. <P>SOLUTION: For a sensor unit 5 of a rotary encoder, a composite substrate 50 in which a flexible substrate 9 and a circuit substrate 7 are connected, is used. In the composite substrate 50, at both end portions in a width direction of the flexible substrate 9, a stress easing portion such as a notch part 971 of an insulation protective layer 97 and a dummy terminal 982 is provided on an extension line of an end edge 970 of the insulation protective layer 97. Therefore, when stress is added to the flexible substrate 9, though bending stress intends to be concentrated along the end edge 970 of the insulation protective layer 97, the stress can be eased by the stress easing portion such as the notch part 971 of the insulation protective layer 97 or the dummy terminal 982. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
