<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device and an illumination apparatus capable of obtaining characteristics of distributing light along a longitudinal direction of an irradiated surface. <P>SOLUTION: A light-emitting device 10 comprises: a light-emitting part 11; a lens body 12; and a reflective body 13. The light-emitting part 11 includes a solid light-emitting element 11a. The lens body 12 includes a light incident portion 12a, in which the solid light-emitting element is housed, and a light output portion 12b configured to output light a made incident on the light incident portion from the solid light-emitting element toward a wide-angle direction, which extends mainly from an optical axis x-x of the solid light-emitting element to a vertical line y-y.
