To centre optical lenses for mechanical clamping, especially during bevelling and facetting, the invention uses a device with a torsionally rigid housing (10) which supports centring spindles (18, 18') with bell-shaped clamping elements (20, 20') between which a lens (L) can be orientated and clamped for grinding. A motor drive (M, R) acts on a torque divider (50) which has a guide body (52) between axially and radially supported discs (58, 58'). Their transmission of force via a ball rim (54) with controllable contact pressure, which is introduced via a thrust piece (62), ensures absolutely synchronous running of the split drive shaft (14, 14'), which acts on the centring spindles (18, 18') via belt drives (46, 46'). …<IMAGE>… |
