<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stirring apparatus and a culture tank, stirring a culture solution with power saving, and preventing sedimentation of a microbe. <P>SOLUTION: The stirring apparatus 1 includes: a movable member 15 that can be displaced between a state A that can hold gas supplied from below in the solution and a state B that can discharge the held gas to the outside; support means 31, 33, 35, 37 vertically movably supporting the movable member 15; and the state changeover means 31, 33, 35, 37 bringing the movable member 15 into the state B when the vertical position of the movable member 15 is higher than a prescribed upper limit position, and bringing the movable member 15 into the state A when the vertical position of the movable member 15 is lower than a prescribed lower limit position.
