<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive coating method and device that can coat an object to be coated in a coating booth with a flammable coating material safely, hygienically and automatically. <P>SOLUTION: A box-shaped coating booth 30 is formed of a fixed bottom-open box 3, and a top-open box 4 moved by a second drive source 15 or a second drive shaft 16. Air is taken or supplied from the top of the coating booth and exhausted from the bottom of the coating booth.
