<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate a traffic amount for each set of transmission/reception terminals. <P>SOLUTION: An estimation device performs: obtaining, from a collection/relay device collecting a traffic amount between transmission/reception terminals, the traffic amount of each collected transmission/reception terminal that is a transmission/reception terminal of a packet relayed by the collection/relay device; calculating a statistical amount related to distribution of the traffic amount of each transmission/reception terminal on the basis of the obtained traffic amount of each collected transmission/reception terminal; and performing an optimization process so that a statistical amount calculated by using a value assumed for a traffic amount of each uncollected transmission/reception terminal that is a transmission/reception terminal of a packet relayed without going by the collection/relay device is close to a statistical amount calculated from the aforementioned traffic amount of each collected transmission/reception terminal, thereby estimating a traffic amount of each uncollected transmission/reception terminal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
