PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for supplying a bell sound on a home network are provided to supply a bell sound which a user purchases through a portable terminal to an electronic device. CONSTITUTION: If a bell sound selection is inputted, an electronic device(100) transmits a bell sound selection message to a terminal(110). If a call reception notification message is received from the terminal, the electronic device transmits a bell sound reproduction request message to the terminal. The electronic device receives bell sound data from the terminal. The electronic device outputs the received bell sound data.
