PRESS FITTING STRUCTURE FOR TUBE MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press fitting structure for a tube member by a simple constitution which prevents liquid from leaking and cutting powder from flowing out to a flow passage even if a flaw is generated during pressing and the cutting powder is produced.

SOLUTION: A tube member 4 is pressed in an engine 1 which has a flow passage 2 for cooling water formed in a cylinder block etc. In an embedded region D of the tube member 4 which is embedded in the flow passage 2, an equal-diameter part 4b, a bundle 4c, and a small-diameter part 4d are formed in order from the side of a tip 4a. The tube member is so formed that an external diameter A of the equal-diameter part 4b is substantially equal to an internal diameter of the flow passage 2 nearby an opening end 2b, and an external diameter C of the small-diameter part 4d is slightly smaller than the external diameter A of the equal-diameter part 4b. The respective external diameters are so related that external diameter A>external diameter C≫external diameter B. Furthermore, the bundle 4c is filled with a bond agent 6 for sealing.
