<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an address recognition device which can register correct address information with an address and name database even if an OCR incorrectly reads address information. <P>SOLUTION: An address recognition unit 2 acquires an address code from characters in a read image of a paper sheet, and a customer barcode reading unit 3 acquires an address code from a customer barcode in the read image of the paper sheet. An address code evaluation unit 4 evaluates credibility of address information by comparing both of the address codes. Then, a name recognition unit 5 acquires name information from characters in the read image of the paper sheet and also determines whether the name information is already registered with an address and name database 6. When the name information is not yet registered with the address and name database 6, a database update information evaluation unit 7 evaluates credibility of the read name information with credibility determination conditions, and if the name information meets the credibility determination conditions, an automatic update unit 10 updates the address and name database 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
