Disclosed are a positioning method and device, belonging to the technical field of positioning. The method comprises: a first device requesting its own position information from a network data center, and receiving the position information of the first device returned by the network data center according to the identifier of the first device; the first device sending the position information, so that a second device in the coverage range of the first device receives the position information and completes positioning according to the position information. The device comprises an obtaining module and a transmission module. The present invention enables the second device to position itself by use of the first device, solving the problem in the prior of inaccurate or invalid GPS positioning, or positioning failure due to the absence of GPS signals, and also enables normal use and accurate positioning of the GPS device.
