<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for solving a problem that vents are sequentially opened to release a predetermined overpressure condition in a protected space, but those vents are left opened and accordingly allow the confined space to continuously access ambient air. <P>SOLUTION: A vent device 30 includes: a vent unit 62 positioned over a vent aperture in relationship normally closing the vent aperture; a vent structure including a movable pressure relief portion defined by a low strength line of the vent unit and including an initial closing position for covering the vent aperture, the pressure relief portion being movable to an open position extending apart from the vent aperture when a predetermined overpressure in the confined space passes through the vent aperture and is applied to the pressure relief portion of the vent unit; and a backstop 86. The pressure relief portion has a sufficient modulus of resilience and elastic coefficient to cause the pressure relief portion to return to the initial position from the open position upon relief of the overpressure condition, thereby solving the problem. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
