The motor vehicle is provided with lamps (3a,3b,3c) arranged in the interior of the motor vehicle, and an information detection unit (1) which is adapted to detect an information. A control device (2) is provided by which the a lamps are controlled in dependence of the information collected from the detecting unit. The information comprises a navigation information, time information or information on a color in the interior of the motor vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling the lamps.
