<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of reusing a cylindrical lens, adhering and fixing a holding member firmly to a housing in reusing a cylindrical lens, and suppressing the shift of an optical beam irradiation position in a sub-scanning direction because of a temperature variation in an optical scanner, as well as an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A cylindrical lens 53 is adhered and fixed to the inside of an intermediate member 120 having a quadrangular tube shape. Housing adhesion parts 121, which project in a main scanning direction, are provided on both sides in the main scanning direction of the intermediate member 120.
