<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the position of a terminal device to be found without increasing network traffic in a positioning system for positioning the position of the terminal device designated by a positioning request even when there are a plurality of positioning methods (processing procedures) according to terminal type. <P>SOLUTION: Identification information of terminal devices and identification information of positioning devices succeeded in positioning processing including information exchange between themselves and the terminal devices are associated with each other and are stored in a management table 13. Upon input of a positioning request designating a terminal device as a positioning target, an allocation means 11 in a positioning gateway device 1 retrieves the management table 13. When the identification information of the positioning device are stored in association with the identification information of the designated terminal device, the allocation means 11 allocates the position request to the positioning device indicated by the identification information thereof.
