<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine that improves rigidity of the entire engine while reducing its weight. <P>SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine includes: a plurality of bearing caps 3a, 3b, 3c and 3d rotatably supporting a crankshaft 2 to a cylinder block 1; an oil pan 4 storing a lubricant; an oil pump 5 feeding the lubricant stored in the oil pan 4 to the cylinder block 1; an oil intake path forming member 7 whose one end is immersed in the lubricant stored in the oil pan 4 and other end is connected to the intake port 5a of the oil pump 5; and an oil discharge path forming member 8 whose one end is connected to the discharge port 5b of the oil pump 5 and other end is connected to the cylinder block 1. The oil intake path forming member 7 and the oil discharge path forming member 8 are constituted to connect at least a set of adjacent bearing caps 3a and 3b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
