<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of restraining deterioration of a discharge lamp while restraining power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The projector includes a discharge lamp 90, a discharge lamp driving part 230 for supplying a driving power to the discharge lamp 90 and driving the discharge lamp 90, and a control part 40 having a first mode and a second mode as operation modes and controlling the discharge lamp driving part 230 based on the operation mode. The control part 40 controls the discharge lamp driving part 230 to supply a first power W1 to the discharge lamp 90 as the driving power when the operation mode is the first mode, and controls the discharge lamp driving part 230 to supply the driving power to the discharge lamp 90 while the driving power is changed in a range not more than a second power W2 smaller than the first power W1 and not less than a third power W3 smaller than the second power W2, when the operation mode is the second mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
