<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp bulb configured to prevent breakage and deterioration of lead wires due to thermal expansion of a ceramic arc tube integrated with a quartz glass outer tube, and also enhance positioning accuracy and vibration resistance of the arc tube. <P>SOLUTION: A discharge lamp bulb 30 includes a quartz glass outer tube 32 formed by sealing both ends of an arc tube surrounding part 56 by first seal parts (57, 58); a ceramic arc tube 31 attached to the inside of the arc tube surrounding part 56; electrodes (41, 42) oppositely disposed inside the arc tube via second seal parts (51, 52); lead wires ASSY (33, 34) connected to the electrodes (41, 42) and fixed to the first seal parts (57, 58); and an insulating plug 68 including a metal terminal 87 and holding the outer tube 32. A stress mitigation part 53 is disposed in an inner lead wire 43.
