<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for ejection-defect test that allows accurate detection of an ejection defect nozzle regardless of the properties of ink or a target; and to provide an ejection-defect test unit, and an inkjet recording apparatus including the ejection-defect test unit. <P>SOLUTION: The method for ejection-defect test is configured to inspect an ejection defect of an inkjet head 9 by using an ultrasonic detector 42 having an ultrasonic-wave transmitting element 45 and an ultrasonic-wave receiving element 46. The method includes: a test ejection step of performing test ejection onto a recording medium W from the inkjet head 9 on the basis of a prescribed test pattern; a reference measurement step in which an ultrasonic wave is transmitted on the basis of the test pattern before the test ejection step in order to measure the reception intensity of the ultrasonic wave; an actual measurement step in which an ultrasonic wave is transmitted on the basis of the test pattern after the test ejection step in order to measure the reception intensity of the ultrasonic wave; and a detection step in which an ejection defect of the inkjet head 9 is detected on the basis of the intensity difference between the reception intensity measured in the reference measurement step and the reception intensity measured in the actual measurement step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
