<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination unit for stairs which is easily installed and in which users do not directly view an illuminant in going up and down the stairs, and an illumination system using the same. <P>SOLUTION: An illumination unit 100 for illuminating a tread surface 2 of stairs with a riser 3, includes an illuminant 10, a light transmission member 12 for covering the illuminant 10 and having optical transmittance, an emission surface 113 for holding the illuminant 10 and the light transmission member 12 and emits the light transmitted from the light transmission member 12 to the tread surface 2, and a holding member 110 having an attachment surface attached to the tip of a tread 4 of the stairs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
