An implement like a scythe or sickle for cutting grass or the like by a forward and backward slashing movement comprises a long rectangular plate-shaped head 2 set at an angle to a handle portion 1 and adapted to hold two rows of single-edged razor blades 6 back-to-back. The head is formed with a number of stampedup projections 5 for locating the blades, a depressed portion 4 to accommodate the U-shaped backings of the blades, and edge projections 8 serving as supports for the corners of adjacent blades. The blades are held in place by a plate 9 arched transversely so as to provide a resilient clamping action, and by bolts and nuts 10, 11.
