TSUNAMI HEIGHT CALCULATION METHOD AND TSUNAMI HEIGHT CALCULATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of calculating past and future tsunami heights in a place having no automatic tide-gage station.

SOLUTION: A computer is allowed to execute: an actual measurement data acquisition step for acquiring actual measurement data concerned with a change in a water level including a tide component and a tsunami component; a tide component extraction step for specifying a cycle component not less than a cycle to be a threshold as a water level change caused by the influence of a tide and extracting the tide component concerned with the water level change caused by the influence of the tide from the actual measurement data acquired by the actual measurement data acquisition step; and a tsunami height calculation step for calculating a tsunami height concerned with the water level change caused by the influence of the tsunami by a difference between the tide component extracted by the tide component extraction step and the actual measurement data acquired by the actual measurement data acquisition step.
