The blade (10) has a rotor blade root (12) fastened to a hub of a wind energy plant, and a rotor blade tip (14) arranged at an end of the blade opposite to the root. An aerodynamic rotor blade section (16) is arranged at the tip, and has a front edge (18) and a pointed rear edge (20). A transition section (22) is formed between the root and the section, and has a front edge (24) and a blunt rear edge (26). An aerodynamic element (28) i.e. plate, is arranged at the blunt edge and made of stainless steel, aluminum, carbon fiber-reinforced plastic, fiber-plastic-composite or plastic.
