A glove has an inner glove 3 for receiving a user's hand and having finger portions 11 with reverse surfaces 35. Protective padding 15 extends over at least a portion of the reverse 5 surfaces of the finger portions. The protective padding is attached to the inner glove at discrete locations such that as the finger portions extend from a flexed position the protective padding moves away from the reverse surfaces of the finger portions of the inner glove to create or enlarge air passages between the protective padding and the reverse surfaces.
