PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single-hole hollow particle that can be obtained through a simple production method. SOLUTION: The single-hole hollow particle comprises 100 pts.wt. polymer and 0.5-40 pts.wt. metal oxide whose surface is subjected to a hydrophobizing treatment, provided that the polymer is obtained by polymerizing vinyl monomers comprising 97-100 wt.% monofunctional vinyl monomer and 0-3 wt.% polyfunctional vinyl monomer. The hollow particle has one hollow part inside, so it can be used by putting a desired substance in the hollow part or can be widely used in various applications requiring to be lightweight by using it with the hollow part empty.
