Method and device for feeding in containers

The method involves separating loosely juxtaposed upright containers (4) in succession in a conveying direction (A) by a rotatable separating unit (6). The containers are filled in successive storage positions along the conveying direction in a stationary storage device, where the storage device is arranged downstream of the separating unit and comprises a set of stoppers (20) and a set of sensors (22). The stopper is extended transverse to the conveying direction in response to a signal transmitted by the respective sensor, so that one container is filled in the respective storage position. The rotatable separating unit is formed as a wheel. The outer surface of the separating unit is coated with soft plastic or rubber to prevent damage of the containers. An independent claim is also included for a device for feeding in loosely juxtaposed upright containers.
