A folding camper 10 comprises a trailer 12 mounted on wheels 14 and includes a tow bar coupling 16 in order to secure the folding camper to a towing vehicle. Trailer 12 comprises a rigid box 18 with four rigid side walls 90, 91, 92, 93. Trailer 12 also comprises a rigid cover comprising a first section 22 and a second section 24. The rigid front section 22 is pivotally connected to a wall of the box 18 of the trailer 12. Section 24 is similarly connected to the box 18 of the trailer 12. The folding camper 10 is arranged to be assembled by first pivoting the front cover section 22 which pulls a canopy 30 and rotates a front frame (34, Figure 4). The rear cover section 24 is then pivotally opened which pulls the canopy 30 and rotates a second frame (36, Figure 4). Finally, the height of the first frame (34) is increased in order to put the canopy 30 in tension and to make the canopy 30 taut. Two permanently mounted frames (34, 36) which pivotally move into position and maintain the interior of the folding camper 10 in a sheltered state. |
