PURPOSE: A light emitting diode is provided to improve reliability and luminous efficiency by forming a coating layer with materials to reduce a refractive difference with the atmosphere. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting unit(140) is located on a substrate. An encapsulation layer(200) covers the light emitting unit. A coating layer(300) is made of organic materials which are located on the encapsulation layer. The refractive index of the coating layer is higher than the refractive index of air and is smaller than the refractive index of the encapsulation layer.
