PURPOSE: A sound absorbing material manufacturing method using a sponge molded body is provided to maximize sound absorptivity, sound insulation, and refractory properties by foaming cement-based inorganic materials to provide porous lightweight characteristics of a sponge. CONSTITUTION: A sound absorbing material manufacturing method using a sponge molded body is as follows: A porous sponge(1) made from synthetic resin materials with a certain elasticity is formed. The sponge is dipped in a mortar tank(10), and mortar permeates the voids of the sponge. The dipped sponge is separated from the mortar tank. A predetermined pressure is applied to the sponge with a pressurizing press so that a proper specific gravity is controlled. The sponge is dried to harden the mortar.
