PURPOSE: An automatic power factor controller using a microcomputer is provided to reduce power consumption by improving power factor. CONSTITUTION: A micro computer is composed of an A/D converter, a measuring unit, an analysis unit, a waveform detecting unit and an SCR(Silicon Controlled Rectifier) controller. The A/D converter converts information of input voltage and current into digital information. The measuring unit measures reactive power in inputted power. The analysis unit analyzes an input voltage waveform. The waveform detecting unit detects the input voltage waveform. The SCR controller controls a condenser bank.
