The chain is replaced by another through or drawn flexible element, so that the use of the flexible element limits obstructions. The chain, the locking unit and the drive device are integrated in a subset at back side of a door frame of the sliding window, so that the window is moved by the movable carriage while authorizing relative displacement of the movable carriage with respect to the movable panel.
