Disclosed is a method for automobile fuel saving, which is based on preserving a normal control program of an automobile engine ECU, by the addition of a forced fuel saving control program to the automobile engine ECU, or by the installation of an externally-connected automobile engine ECU into which the forced fuel saving control program has been written, and at the same time by the installation of a forced changeover switch (K2), with the forced changeover switch (K2) switching control of the engine between the ECU normal control program and the forced fuel saving control program; or by installation of an automobile engine sensor signal-generation device, which inputs to the automobile engine ECU a sensor analog signal to effect fuel saving, and at the same time by the installation of the forced changeover switch (K2) used to switch between the input to the ECU from the original automobile sensor signal and that from the sensor analog signal. It adopts two control modes, so that the contradiction between the dynamic performance of the automobile and fuel economy is thereby solved, and the present method can be applied universally to any automobile with an electronically controlled engine.
