<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a URL shortening without a reference database. <P>SOLUTION: A URL can be shortened by regarding at least a portion of a given original URL as an n-adic number and converting the portion into n + x -adic number whose radix is greater than that of the n-adic number (For example, a numeric portion of a URL is regarded as a decimal number and converted into 64-adic number.). Also, a database to be referenced before and after conversion is unnecessary when actually accessed because a portion before conversion can be restored by reversely converting a portion having been compressed into an original n-adic number due to that the conversion is reversible. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
