<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent sensitivity abnormality caused by dew condensation or various germs, by preventing generation of the dew condensation and the various germs inside of a dark box. <P>SOLUTION: A photoelectric smoke sensor has a dark box, which stores a light emitting device and a photo detector, and discriminates a fire by receiving scattered light, which is generated when the light emitting device emits light, with the photo detector. The interior of the dark box is coated with a photocatalyst film. Moreover, the light-emitting surface of the light emitting device is coated with the photocatalyst film.
