<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a star polymer including styrene having a substituent such as a methyl group at α-position and a repeating unit derived from its derivative at an arm part, and exhibiting unimodal distribution. <P>SOLUTION: In this method for producing polymer, a compound represented by general formula (1) is polymerized or copolymerized with a compound copolymerizable with the compound represented by the general formula (1) by anionic polymerization, and after that, a polyfunctional coupling agent is reacted in the presence of glycol diethers, wherein R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>represents a 1-3C alkyl group, R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>represents a 1-12C hydrocarbon group, a halogen atom, -OR<SP POS="POST">3</SP>or -COOR<SP POS="POST">3</SP>, and R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>represents a hydrogen atom or a protective group, and p represents an integer of 0-5, and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>may be the same or the different when p is 2 or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
