<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scintillator for neutron detection, wherein a small-sized and lightweight silicon photodiode has a highly sensitive emission wavelength, the effective atomic number is relatively small, and light emission does not easily occur by gamma rays. <P>SOLUTION: The scintillator for neutron detection includes a colquiriite-type fluoride monocrystal containing at least one element selected from Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn and at least 0.80 atom/nm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>of<SP POS="POST">6</SP>Li.
