An appliance control apparatus comprises: a storage unit for storing therein a mode control file that has written therein controlling content of each of a plurality of appliances for each of a plurality of control modes; a control unit for controlling the operation of the appliances on the basis of the mode control file; a communication unit for executing communication with the appliances; and a display unit. The appliance control apparatus is characterized in making the control unit obtain, from the mode control file, setting states of the appliances before a switching of mode is to be executed, and the setting states of the appliances in the mode into which the appliances are to be switched, and making the control unit execute a display control in which the setting states of the appliances before and after the switching of mode are displayed on the display unit, so that they can be compared.
