<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging machine in which only a lateral seal part on a bag bottom side is brought down in one direction, in the packaging machine which sandwiches a packaging material along a direction intersecting with a conveyance direction by means of a pair of seal jaws to laterally seal the packaging material. <P>SOLUTION: The packaging machine 1 sandwiches a cylindrical film Fm along a direction of intersecting with a conveyance direction by means of a first seal jaw 51a and a second seal jaw 51b to laterally seal the same. On the surface of the first seal jaw 51a, which sandwiches the cylindrical film Fm, a first serration 511 is provided from the upper end to the lower end of the surface. Similarly, on the surface of the second seal jaw 51b which sandwiches the cylindrical film Fm, a second serration 512 is provided from the upper end to the lower end of the surface.
