<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small portable metal detector at low cost which has high detection sensitivity, capable of promptly detecting metal ions in liquid; a detection plate; and a metal detection method. <P>SOLUTION: A metal detector according to the present invention comprises a detection plate having a metal ion capturing layer which captures metal ions on a face side, a guide part which guides a reducing agent for reduction of the captured metal ions to the metal ion capturing layer, an optical prism which is optically arranged in close contact with a face on the opposite side of the face on which the metal ion capturing layer of the detection plate is arranged, light irradiation means which irradiates light to the detection plate through the optical prism, and light detection means which detects the reflected light from the detection plate, and is characterized by detecting the change in reflectance of the reflected light before and after dosage of the reducing agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
