<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a configuration allowing blocking by solidification of toner without using a complicated or special configuration. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus in which a toner image formed on a latent image carrier is transferred onto a recording medium, and then the recording medium is transported to a fixation device 80 to fix the toner image, comprises: transportation means provided in a transportation path for transporting the recording medium after the transferring toward the fixation device 80; and suction means 78 for sucking and holding the recording medium P during the transportation by the transportation means 75.
