The invention relates to a device for photocatalytic treatment of a fluid, comprising: - a container for holding a fluid with at least one inlet and at least one outlet; - at least one field generator which during use creates an electrical, magnetic or electromagnetic field; - at least one light source placed in the container and comprising a converter, which converter during use converts the field generated by the field generator to light; and - a photocatalyst placed in the container.
