<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice information device of an elevator which can inform an elevator user of information including contents of an abnormality when the abnormality occurs during the operation of the elevator and allows the elevator user to eliminate the abnormality by his/her own action or to deal with the abnormality when the informed abnormality is small. <P>SOLUTION: A car control panel 22 is provided with an announcing device 27. When the abnormality of the elevator is detected, voice information including contents of the abnormality and contents for dealing with the abnormality is informed to the elevator user. For example, when the abnormality occurs in the operation of opening and closing a door, voice announcement is played in a car 6 like this: "The door does not move. Is there any trash in a groove of the door. Please confirm. If there is any trash, please remove it." According to the announcement, the elevator user confirms the groove of a sill.
