PURPOSE: A hot plugging method in a multicore processor and multicore processor system are provided to maintain system performance by dynamically controlling a hot plug according to the workload of cores. CONSTITUTION: A multicore processor(200) includes cores. A dynamic workload monitor(300) creates state transition signals according to workload based on the operation parameter of the cores. A hot-plug control unit(100) selectively inactivates the cores based on a timeout signal, an interrupt signal, and the state transition signal. A timer(150) provides the timeout signal and the interrupt signal to the hot-plug control unit.
