<p>An exercise machine comprising a load member 2 with a torsional resistance 15, two gripping members 3 attached to the load member 2 and hand operable connection members 7 with locked and unlocked configurations disposed on the gripping members 3 wherein when the connection members 7 are unlocked the gripping members 3 may rotate with the respect to the load member 2 and wherein when the connection members are locked rotation of the gripping members 3 causes rotation of the load member 2 against the torsional resistance 15. The connection members may take the form of brake levers 8 which use a disc brake 9 and a calliper and a pulley 11 with a weight 15 may provide the resistance. The device is designed to provide exercises which simulate the strains placed on a userâ s wrists, hands and forearms and to protect against arm pump.</p> |
