<p>A preform mold assembly and a method of circulating a cooling fluid are disclosed. The assembly comprises a cavity plate and a cavity insert, the cavity insert being received in a bore in the cavity plate and forming a body portion of the preform. The cavity insert also defines, at least in part, a cavity insert cooling chamber and an annular hairpin cooling chamber, the annular hairpin cooling chamber being in fluid communication with the cavity insert cooling chamber for promoting cooling in a downstream end of the cavity insert.</p> |
