In one aspect, a method related to data management includes but is not limited to accepting input for designation of a first portion of a data stream for retention at a first resolution, wherein the data stream represents video and/or audio information: and accepting input for designation of a second portion of the data stream for retention at a second resolution, wherein the second resolution is less than the first resolution, and wherein the retention of the second portion of the data stream at the second resolution is to be performed if a condition is met.
