<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and a motion vector detection method that are capable of correcting an error in the vertical direction of a motion vector detected from an image captured using a rolling shutter method. <P>SOLUTION: A camera 11 has imaging elements arranged in a matrix state, and extracts signals of the imaging elements using an XY address reading method in which shutter times for adjacent rows from the top row to the bottom row have a predetermined deviation time, thereby obtaining a frame image in a predetermined frame period. A motion vector detection unit 13, for a target object included in two temporally continuous frame images, detects a movement amount of the target object in the row direction and the column direction between the two frame images. A motion vector vertical component correction unit 14 corrects a column direction component of the movement amount detected by the motion vector detection unit 13 using at least one of the predetermined deviation time and the frame period, and outputs a row direction component of the movement amount and the corrected column direction component. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
