SOLID STATE IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE AND CAMERA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique advantageous to the reduction of a crosstalk, while suppressing the deterioration of light detection sensitivity.

SOLUTION: A solid state image pickup device includes multiple pixels for focus detection by a phase difference detection method. Each pixel includes: a semiconductor region including multiple photoelectric conversion parts capable of mutually independently reading signals; a micro lens; and a lens surface arranged between the micro lens and the semiconductor region. The lens surface allows negative power to act on light which passes the micro lens and is directed to the semiconductor region.
