<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt drive device, the enlargement of which is further suppressed than before. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an endless intermediate transfer belt 61; and a plurality of tension rollers for laying the intermediate transfer belt 61 around a part of the peripheral surface thereof in a tensioned state, while being disposed inside a loop of the intermediate transfer belt 61. The image forming apparatus rotationally drives at least any one of the plurality of tension rollers to endlessly move the intermediate transfer belt 61. The image forming apparatus is further provided with: a driven roller 92 that is driven-rotated about a rotation shaft extending in the width direction of the intermediate transfer belt 61 while being brought into contact with a rear face, which is an inner peripheral surface of the loop of the intermediate transfer belt 61; a swingable support plate 91 that holds the driven roller 92 along with a roller support body 93 in the belt width direction in a reciprocable manner; and a displacement sensor 95 that detects the amount of movement of the driven roller 92 in the belt width direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
