<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for casting molten metal in an open ended mold cavity, by confining the peripheral outline of the molten metal in the cavity when molten metal is cast into the state of a final product. <P>SOLUTION: A starter block has commenced reciprocating along the axis, and the body of startup material has commenced reciprocating in tandem with it, through a series of second cross-sectional planes (74), layers (76) of the molten metal are successively superimposed on the body of the startup material adjacent a first cross-sectional plane of the cavity, and when the heat of mutually confronted both the sides of the superimposed layers is extracted, a thermal shed plane (78) is defined in a body of metal, speed is determined by a method of dividing angularly successive part annular portions (94) of the body (48) of the metal discharged from a discharge end opening, further, when the heat is extracted from the part on mutually opposing portions of the body of the metal, the heat is extracted from both sides of heat storage planes according to a relative area of mutually opposing portions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
